The Art of Hosting and Harvesting Conversations that Matter (also known as the Art of Participatory Leadership) training offers simple and powerful participatory models, processes and practices to work with others through complexity, uncertainty and change. The focus of this training is a question that we hear often, in different forms: How can we bring co-design to life in our systems?

Co-design is a commonly used term and concept in our systems, governance, and organisations in Australia right now  – from systems such as health, disability, education and research, through to industries such as mining. It recognises the important role all people can play in determining their own and their communities’ outcomes through the richness of diversity of lived experience and perspectives.

Co-design is an idea perhaps easily understood, and challenging to implement beyond the tokenistic. Authentic, effective co-design requires a culture and practice of consciousness and inclusion to meet each other in our humanity, listen deeply, and work together to create responses and solutions to our most pressing and complex issues. Art of Hosting offers an approach that  supports the development of this culture and practice in individuals, organisations and systems.

Art of Hosting has a strong history in Queensland and has contributed to individual leadership development and empowerment, co-creation and innovation in organisations and systems, and deep change in many places and spaces. We practitioners have heard a powerful call for developing more skill and confidence in this form of leadership in Queensland and further afield.

We warmly invite you to join us for this 3-day training event on the banks of the Brisbane River/Maiwar.  Hosted by an experienced team of practitioners, you will explore the complexities and joys of genuine co-design and other skills and practices of participatory leadership..

We acknowledge the Turrbal and Jagera peoples – custodians and first peoples of this country. We pay our respects to their elders past, present and emerging.
