Art of Hosting Vietnam 2022
“And when there is nothing left to do but live,
let us retire the noise,
and build a home inside the stillness.”
That is how the poet Bobby LeFebre begins his poem Nothing Left, which he writes to offer inspiration for his community in Colorado, US through the Covid-19 crisis. One doesn’t have to be an American to resonate with LeFebre’s words. After all, didn’t the virus force a total stop to all our lives and, for the unlucky souls, a stop to their breaths? For the survivors, there remains much pain, the pain of grief, of losing livelihood, of not being able to reach out to loved ones, of loneliness.
Yet, the pandemic is just one among many disruptions in life. And when changes are present, some people may just want to rush back to the old normality, while others see that a new way of living and working together is possible. For tragic events like Covid can often be the catalyst to bring people together and possibilities emerge. Just like how LeFebre ends his poem:
“And together in this sudden strangeness,
radical imagination will run wild;
tomorrow being built today.”
If you are curious about building that tomorrow, then you are invited to join our upcoming training: the Art of Hosting & Harvesting Conversations that Matter. The Art of Hosting, also called the Art of Participatory Leadership, offers simple yet powerful practices and processes that enable us to listen deeply to each other and take wise action to meet our challenges. In this training, we will explore the question:
How can we connect with our collective potential to navigate work and life in this sudden strangeness?
The training will take place from November 17th – 20th, 2022. We believe that when people come together in a meaningful conversation then the collective mind is greater than the sum of its parts. Such is a space where creativity flows and magic happens, where no problem seems too big, no challenge insurmountable. More than ever we need each other to move forward. So please join us if you want to explore an emerging future where all lives can flourish.
